Very informative website. Definitely one of the best available for irish adopters.Thank you. I am not a member of the LGBT community but wish those who are the very best of luck with their adoption journey. I am sorry there are people out there who can write such ignorant comments such as those displayed below.

I am so sorry to hear that, I also went to a good shepherd convent in J.H.B. It still haunts me to this day. It was a sad part of my life.

For those who do not know,
ABATO Uganda is a non-governmental,non-profit and non-political organization working with rural and peri-urban communities in Uganda to try and improve the quality of life among the children of Uganda especially those suffering the adverse effects of civil war,disease and extreme poverty. Their interventions include:

– Fostering
– Sponsorships
– Placement with orphanages
– Supporting support families
– Facilitating adoption

They are in the final stages of designing a website which they hope should be operational in the next 1-2 months. By that time too they hope electricity will have reached many of our communities in the countryside which are not yet connected.

What are the conditions to adopt there?
Can you give more info?
Can gay men or women adopt?
Do couples have to be married?
Can unmarried couple have one adopting as a single parent, even in a gay couple?
