Fact: The marriage ban for same-gender couples discriminates against Irish families and children.

At Marriage Equality, we want to change that and we are asking you to help us.

Please watch Rory’s Story – a new short film by Marriage Equality and FailSafe Films.

Please help us spread the word by sharing Rory’s Story with your friends and family.

What would you give to get marriage equality across the line? We are currently facing an urgent funding need, and without your help over the next few months, we will have to close our doors. Please click here to make a donation to the Marriage Equality campaign today.

Together we can make a difference for same-sex couples, our families and our children.

Because no child deserves to be a stranger to their parents.

Marriage Equality urges TDs and Senators to commit to equality for same sex couples and their families

PDF versions of the “Out to your TD” lobbying pack are available to download from http://www.marriagequality.ie/getinvolved/tdcampaign/downloadtdpack.html

Civil Partnership is not the same as civil marriage – that is the message Marriage Equality is reiterating to TDs and Senators as they head off on their summer holidays, as part of its re-launched “Out to your TD” campaign packs.

The campaign, originally launched in 2008, has had great success in raising awareness on the issue of civil marriage for same sex couples. It calls on supporters to visit their TDs, share their stories, and demand that the political system ends discrimination and inequality and instead treats same-sex couples equally with heterosexual couples. Voices of Children – read their stories, hear their voices (Marriage Equality)

Especially of interest, in relation to adoption:
Voices of Children Conference (8 of 13): Cherishing all the children of the nation equally: Geoffrey Shannon, Solicitor & Child Law Expert

What matters for children is the stability of the relationship.

From Marriage Equality.

On September 8th 2010, Marriage Equality hosted our groundbreaking Voices of Children Conference.

The conference emphasised that progress on the issue of the legal rights of children to their same sex parents is urgent – many spoke of how such progress will depend on the work and leadership of groups like Marriage Equality.
